Why This Listing Includes the Tailpipes

Akrapovič sells the Slip-On Line muffler and its tailpipe set as two separate part numbers, and a tailpipe choice is mandatory before the system can be fitted — Akrapovič does not offer this exhaust without one. Many retailers list the muffler on its own at a lower headline price, then charge for the tailpipes separately once you reach checkout. Titanium Construction, ECE Type Approved

Built for cars with a petrol particulate filter and ECE type approved as standard, this high-grade titanium system reduces weight by 31.8% (6.12 kg) over the stock exhaust. Complex parts, including the exhaust valve housings and specially designed collectors, are cast at Akrapovič's in-house titanium foundry, and the increased-diameter main tubes work with a dedicated control kit to deliver a refined Akrapovič sound in every drive mode. Installation is a straightforward plug-and-play job, though the stock exhaust must be cut to fit.

Choose Your Tailpipe Finish

Select from two genuine Akrapovič tailpipe designs, both finished in hand-made carbon-fibre with a titanium inner sleeve and integrated acoustic reflectors:

• Round: A classic cylindrical design shared with other Akrapovič BMW M systems, reworked for the M5.
• Hexagonal: A new hexagonal profile designed specifically for the M5, for a bolder, more distinctive look.

Both tailpipe options are included in the price above — there's no upcharge for either finish.

Optional: Evolution Link Pipe Set Upgrade

For track use, add the Akrapovič Evolution Link Pipe Set (Titanium) to unlock further gains — tested back-to-back against the standard system, it takes total gains to +11.5 hp and +15.6 Nm, and saves a further 19.56 kg (72.6%) over the stock part. ECU remapping is mandatory when this upgrade is fitted, and doing so invalidates the ECE type approval on this system — it's intended for closed-course competition use only.
